Left Sendai at 09:26 and arrived in Kyoto at 14:14.
Rode on two Shinkansen (bullet train) during the trip.
Really enjoyed the smooth, roomy and comfortable ride on those trains.
Kyoto Tower is the most prominent landmark in Kyoto.
It's right across from Kyoto station where I got off the train.
On the way to the hotel (10mins walk), I passed by this temple (Higashi-Honganji Temple).
Kyoto has many Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines.
A really cool way to increase a parking space, vertically.
Halloween is coming up.
I hope no pranksters will try defeating the safety switch to make car sandwich.
Kyoto Century Hotel which is beside Kyoto Station.
Look at all those taxis outside the hotel.
Actually, that's a taxi center.
Nearby, there's also a bus center.
A Japanese Inn (Ryokan).
A shop selling praying items.
Another shop selling praying items.
Maybe a tea house or an inn.
Inside Kyoto Station.
It's has a really huge atrium.
It also has a department store, shops and restaurants.
At the roof of Kyoto Station which is reachable by taking 3 really long escalators.
At the roof, it has many steps which serve as good sitting area for lunch, listening to live performances or where couples meet in the evening.
There is also a small roof garden.
It also has a good view of the city from up here.
Kyoto Tower in the evening.
It costs around CAD8 to ride up to the viewing area at the top.
